Toward strengthening its community presence and social responsibility, the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) has forged partnerships with eight government institutions and agencies for the implementation of various extension programs.
College President Dr. Edgar G. Cue inked Memorandum of Agreements (MOA) with his counterparts from partner agencies during a signing ceremony today, June 22, at the Administration Conference Hall, Bontoc, MP.
The partner agencies include the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) โ Cordillera, Philippine National Police (PNP) โ Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (MPPO) and Mountain Province Provincial Mobile Force Company (MPPMFC), Municipal Local Government Unit of Bontoc, Masla National High School, Otucan Bila NHS, Bauko Central School, and Barangay LGU of Bontoc Ili, Bontoc.
Under the Agreements, MPSPC will be extending its services and expertise in various capacities through research, training, seminar-workshops, and resource sharing, among others. The partner agencies, on the other hand, will endeavor to integrate these programs into their activities, identify beneficiaries, and assist in the conduct of the activities.

Meanwhile, Dr. Cue underscored in his message the significance of the collaboration as a platform among the academe, service provides, and the community โto engage with each other, address societal challenges, and contribute to sustainable development.โ
Cue also expressed his appreciation to the partner agencies saying โ[Y]our steadfast support to the College in many forms is truly commendable.โ
โThis is a testament of our commitment as a higher education institution in the community. This is MPSPCโs role in shaping the future of Mountain Province and beyond not only as a center of academic excellence but also engines of social progress and development,โ Cue said.
He also added that the Agreement is part of the commitment of the College to extend higher education services beyond the campuses โby providing expertise, sharing resources, and assisting in knowledge transfer through instruction, research, and innovationโฆas we have envisioned to transform lives and foster sustainable development.โ
On the other hand, as a show of support, Representative Maximo Y. Dalog, Jr. delivered an inspirational message during the ceremony which was attended by officials and representatives of the different partner agencies, College officials, faculty members, and staff.
These collaborations contribute to the broader goal of creating an inclusive, transparent, and accountable society, which is at the heart of SDG 16 and 17. By working together, MPSPC, LGUs, and local stakeholders contribute to the creation of a more just, inclusive, and sustainable society. This approach to collaboration is vital for achieving the SDGs and ensuring that development benefits all members of the community, creating a foundation for long-term peace, justice, and prosperity.
