Bontoc, Mountain Province—On August 14, 2023, a significant step towards enhancing Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the region was taken as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)—Mountain Province, led by Provincial Director Melita D. Pinic, paid a courtesy visit to Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) President Dr. Edgar G. Cue.
The visit aimed to solidify the partnership between the two institutions and explore opportunities for collaboration in providing high-quality TVET programs.
During the visit, PD Pinic and her team toured the College’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the Housekeeping Laboratory, Garments Laboratory, and HM Kitchen Laboratory for Bread and Pastry. These laboratories are integral to MPSPC’s Hospitality Management Program, which offers a wide range of short courses, such as Diploma in Applied Hospitality Service, Housekeeping NCII-IV, Food and Beverage Services NCII-IV, Events Management NC-III, Cookery NCII-IV, Baking NCII-NCIV, Food Processing NCII, Barista NCII-IV, Front Office Management NCII-NCIV, and Customer Relations NCII-NCIV.
MPSPC’s commitment to providing accessible and quality TVET is further exemplified by its training programs and its role as a training center for hospitality soft skills. Additionally, the College serves as a certified assessment center for all TVET programs Center for Assessment for all TVET programs being offered by the SIHSTM in Mountain Province.
By strengthening its partnership with TESDA-Mountain Province, MPSPC is poised to continue its mission of producing highly skilled graduates who are ready to contribute to the region’s economic growth.
