Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) in partnership with Baguio City’s AIDS Watch Council and Northern Sanctuary Metropolitan Community Church conducted a debriefing and grounding activity for students in crisis situations on May 20, 2023 at the Coffee and Lemon Café in Samoki, Bontoc.
Said event was organized by MPSPC Office of the President through the Events Management and Gender Development Office to raise awareness on the growing number of mental health issues and HIV cases in the province.
Aside from Mental Health and HIV Awareness lectures by advocates Ricky Ducas Jr. and Pastor Myke Sotero, the activity further highlighted the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial and the conduct of free HIV Screening.
Bearing the theme “Spread Love and Solidarity to Build Stronger Communities” for this year, the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial is being held every third Sunday of May to commemorate the lives of those who have fought and lost to AIDS.
