In observance of Mental Health Awareness Week, Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) marked the occasion with a symbolic blue lighting ceremony at the MPSPC Admin Building on October 10. This initiative, titled “Light Up Blue for Mental Health,” is led by the Philippine Mental Health Association (PMHA) in partnership with various organizations, aiming to promote mental health awareness and solidarity.
The color blue was chosen as it represents serenity, peace, and calmness—qualities that provide comfort and hope, especially during challenging times. By illuminating the Admin Building in blue, MPSPC sought to create a visual reminder of the importance of mental well-being and the need to support one another.
In addition, MPSPC officials, along with teaching and non-teaching staff, wore blue shirts to demonstrate their commitment to the cause and to encourage open conversations around mental health. This collective show of support underscores MPSPC’s dedication to fostering an environment where mental health is prioritized, understood, and openly discussed.
Through these observances, MPSPC reaffirms its commitment to mental health advocacy, recognizing the significance of mental well-being as a cornerstone of a thriving, resilient community.
