The Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) inked yesterday a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) for the implementation of the NCIP – Manpower Building Scheme (MBS) and Educational Assistance Program (EAP) at the Coffee and Lemon Cafe, Samoki, Bontoc, MP, May 26, 2023.
College President Dr. Edgar G. Cue and NCIP – Cordillera Regional Director Atty. Atanacio D. Addog signed the said Agreement during the General Orientation and Capability Building for NCIP-EAP Grantees.
In a message, Dr. Cue underscored the importance of this partnership in widening accessibility of higher education especially for the indigenous peoples.
“I commend the Commission for continually providing opportunities to the underprivileged but deserving students realize their dreams. The signing of this Agreement speaks of our shared commitment and goal to further accessible higher education,” expressed Cue.
Meanwhile, Cue also encouraged the student-grantees to maximize the opportunity given to them to excel and immerse themselves in their studies. “Bear in as your responsibility to maximize the opportunities given to you and consequently pay it forward in the service of your communities,” said Cue.
“Become agents of change to make your communities and the world better,” encouraged Cue.
The MOA signing was witnessed by Dr. Karen B. Cue, Director for Linkages, Somerson C. Kis-ing, Coordinator for Scholarships and Grants Office, and Jane Lamangen, NCIP -EAP Focal Person.
On the other hand, the student-grantees have undergone a general orientation as well as a capability building training.
