MPSPC Inks Partnership with Coffee Farmers in Mountain Province

Dr. Rexton F. Chakas, MPSPC President, represented the College in the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement with eight coffee farmers from Sagada, Bauko and Tadian as farmer cooperators of the MPSPC Coffee project at the Victor D. Dominguez Research and Extension Development Center, Ba-ang, Bauko, Mountain Province on July 23, 2020. Dr. Annie Grail F. Ekid, Vice President for Research Development and Extension and Mr. Alver W. Claudio, Coffee Center Director witnessed the said event.

 The said MOA signing aims to promote specialty coffee production in Mountain Province. Owners of the coffee farms will be the college’s partners for instruction, research and extension activities of the college. MPSPC will also provide them with quality seedlings for coffee planting and production following the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and technical assistance necessary in coffee production and postharvest.
