MPSPC SSG Officers Lead Donation Drive for Fire-Affected Students of MPSPC

The recent fire that broke out 2:30 A.M. of April 11, 2023, in Barangay Poblacion, Bontoc, Mountain Province devastated the homes and belongings of several Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) students,  the Supreme Student Government (SSG) officers have launched a heartfelt donation drive to support those affected. This initiative, driven by compassion and solidarity, seeks to ease the burden on students whose lives have been upended by the tragedy.

The SSG officers have quickly mobilized to coordinate the donation drive, reaching out to the broader MPSPC community for support. Donations of essential items, including clothing, hygiene kits, bedding, and school supplies, are being collected, along with monetary contributions that will be used to help students rebuild and regain stability. The drive has already seen an outpouring of generosity, with students, faculty, and alumni, and Cordillera Young Leaders Club, uniting to contribute and show their support.

“Our affected students have lost a lot, but with everyone’s help, we’re making sure they feel supported,” said by the SSG President who spearheaded  this  effort. “This donation drive is more than just gathering resources—it’s about lifting each other up and showing that our MPSPC family stands together in times of crisis.”

The donation drive has also been an opportunity to foster a sense of community, as MPSPC students, staff, and other stakeholders have come forward to donate whatever they can. Student organizations, local businesses, and community leaders have also pledged their support, amplifying the reach of the drive and ensuring that those affected receive immediate and meaningful assistance.

In addition to coordinating donations, the SSG officers are actively working with school administration and local relief organizations to ensure that donations are distributed fairly and reach students in need as quickly as possible. The drive has already made a difference in the lives of those affected, providing a sense of hope and stability amidst a challenging time.

As MPSPC’s student body and extended community continue to show unwavering support, the donation drive remains ongoing. The SSG invites all who wish to help to participate in any way they can, confident that together they can bring a measure of comfort and resilience to their peers affected by the fire.
