Bontoc, Mountain Province – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) – Mountain Province, in partnership with the Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) Department of Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC), successfully concluded its fourth batch of the Housekeeping NC II program on December 19, 2023, at the MPSPC HM Hall, Bontoc, MP.
A total of 25 trainees graduated from the program, which is designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the housekeeping industry. The program is aligned with the industry’s current requirements and aims to address unemployment and job-skill mismatch.
In his message, College President Edgar G. Cue expressed his gratitude to TESDA for their collaboration and commended the graduates for their dedication and hard work. He encouraged them to apply their newly acquired skills to their future endeavors and to contribute to the development of their communities.
“We ask of you to be our partners in the attainment of the vision, mission, and goals of MPSPC. Through you, we can be able to reach out more to vulnerable communities for the provision of efficient and inclusive education,” Cue added.
This initiative is in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for decent work and sustainable economic growth. By providing quality TVET programs, MPSPC and TESDA are empowering individuals to secure better employment opportunities and contribute to the economic development of the region.
This event also aligns with MPSPC’s commitment to lifelong learning and vocational training. The College regularly hosts executive education programs and vocational training courses open to the general public, further enhancing its role as a center for skills development and community empowerment.
